Hello, all! For some reason, today I started thinking about a book I read about 12 years ago(...really, who remembers books they read when they were six?). I'm not sure if the book is well-known or not, but I do remember certain parts of the book. Note: this is a chapter book, not a picture book.
This book features a young boy staying in a hotel with his mother (and possibly his father). His mom paints pictures inside matchboxes for a living, and the pictures are extremely detailed. One night, in the hotel, the boy sneaks out of his hotel room. This leads to him being kidnapped by the parents of another boy in the hotel. They dress him up in fancy clothes and force him to eat 'spag'.
It's really a rather odd story, but I remember it being really enjoyable. And yes, that's barely any information. Sorry.

How to save the world.
I know I haven't posted a journal, and I'm sorry to say that I'm still not going to be very active - college is hard work! However, I wanted to bring this video to your attention. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc&feature=share
It's time to end child slavery - now and forever. Thanks for listening. Please watch this video and share it with others - one of my dear friends has a father who was once a child soldier. I could never imagine that kind of pain in my own life, and no one in the world, especially children - deserves this.
How to Be Frugal (Or in Other words...Cheap)
As an individual that has never lived in a 'wealthy' home, I've learned over the years how to be very frugal when it comes to money - and with college coming up, and me paying off my braces still, that comes in handy - majorly. Thus, I thought I might share a few tips on how one can achieve frugality, or even -- gasp -- the utter cheap-itude of getting something completely, utterly, ultimately free.
Here are a few tips on how to be frugal.
1. Work Hard.
It almost goes without saying, but if you want to be able to have things in life, you will have to work for them. Work can be anything from your job to just clipping coupons - but either wa
Life is Great.
So, first off - I'm on day two of wisdom teeth extraction recovery. I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, and it really truly was not as bad as I kept thinking it would be. I even went to Wally-land later that day, and got a free yogurt sample, for which I was very grateful for. And believe it or not, I even went to a movie party last night, to the surprise of all my friends there. I brought a 'nutritional smoothie meal' along with me, made at the last second with strawberries, raspberries, mango baby food (which it just blended mangoes, and cheap, so it's not bad at all), cherries, plain yogurt, wheat germ and spinach. Believe it or not,
Life.
Well, for one thing - I'm alive, just in case any of you were wondering! :)
For another...Well, just trying to figure out what to do with my life.
That's not saying that life's not going well, though - for the most part, my senior year is great, more than I ever could have hoped for or imagined.
My dilemma with life is one students often face at this point in their lives - choosing a college.
You see, I've been accepted into quite a few colleges, but from two of them, I've had great scholarship offers.
One school - one in my state that is a good school, but not necessarily my top choice - has offered me full tuition, plus fees, some hous
